Advisor Program Director

Confluence Philanthropy’s New Advisor Program Director is a key leadership position with significant program development, management, and communication responsibility. We are recruiting a charistmatic, entrepreneurial and detail-oriented leader, motivated by the idea of growing a cutting edge organization. The Advisor Program Director will work directly with the CEO and management committee to strategize the launch and development of an expanded membership platform for investment advisors, asset managers, and CDFI’s. Our new strategic direction relies upon the ability of the Advisor Program Director to establish long-term relationships and partnerships, create new programming, and to facilitate member engagement.

We are looking for a high-energy investment professional who will take charge of this position, making a strong commitment to the organization.

Reports to: CEO

Compensation: Competitive non profit rate, based on experience, plus highly competitive benefits

Location: NYC office – non-negotiable. Must be available weekdays starting at 9:00 am PT – 6 pm ET. Domestic travel will be a required component of this job. The location is nonnegotiable, please do not consider applying if you are not already based within daily commuting distance of New York City.

Start Date: After mid - July 2017

Responsibilities

Program Development and Management: Work with the CEO and program team to create programming for the newly expanded Advisors Membership Program. Supervise the Membership Program Manager and fellows to implement programming. Foster team collaboration and virtual communication using apps, website and social media platforms. Maintain organized CMS. Recruit consultants as needed within budgetary constraints. Strong program development skills required, community organizing skills a plus. Previous experience working within the investment or financial services industry required.

Member Engagement: Confluence prides itself on being a community. Develop authenticate relationships with members and partners in order to deepen the quality of our programming and to enrich the membership experience. Expect 6-8 domestic trips per year. Ability to build trust and easy rapport with investment professionals and industry thought leaders required.

Annual Advisors Forum: Play a leadership role in developing content and recruiting speakers for a new one-day Annual Advisors Forum. Prior large conference organizing experience a strong plus.

Fundraising and Marketing: Cultivate funding relationships. Co-create sponsorship requests and marketing materials. Design program budgets and oversee contract compliance. Strong communications writing experience required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in non profit management, communications, or graduate experience equivalent required, MBA strongly preferred
  • Previous work experience in the investment or financial services industry required• Strong written and oral communication skills required
  • Business development and fundraising experience required• Extensive computer skills including word, excel, powerpoint required
  • Detail-oriented work style, required• Highly organized, efficient and self-directed work style
  • Emotional maturity, and the ability to perform under pressure with ‘high power’ executives with grace, poise, and hopefully even humor
  • A high level of discretion for both professional and personal affairs
  • Strong interest in environmental and social investing, and the path to a new economy
  • Ability to work in a small office environment required
