Position: CEO

Organization: Jeremy Coller Foundation

Role Overview

Reporting to: Jeremy Coller and the Trustees of the Foundation

Package: Six-figures (depending on experience)

Location: 116 Park Street, London, W1K 6AF

Main Purpose: To lead the Foundation to achieve $20T of institutional assets pledged to the engagements of its FAIRR initiative; and end animal factory farming

Background

Founded in 2002, the Jeremy Coller Foundation (JCF) is the philanthropic vehicle of private equity entrepreneur Jeremy Coller. The JCF has three stated Charitable Objectives: o Ending Animal Factory Farming o Supporting the Coller School of Management o Supporting Education and Culture Of the three Charitable Objectives, the JCF’s predominant mission and growth area is “Ending Animal Factory Farming”. The Foundation addresses this important topic both though its own strategic initiatives and grant making/special projects in the areas of animal welfare, human health and global sustainability. The JCF’s primary strategic focus in “Ending Animal Factory Farming” is the FAIRR (Farm Animal Investment Risk & Return) Initiative, which was established by the JCF in 2015 and has more than $4T of institutional assets pledged to its engagements.

The JCF’s second Charitable Objective, “Supporting the CSM”, is addressed through the endowing of the Tel Aviv University Business School, now called the Coller School of Management. The CSM has been given the goal of becoming the #1 business school in the world in venture. The third Charitable Objective, “Supporting Education and Culture”, involves annual charitable donations, mostly to other UK-based charities whose focus is on Education and Cultural causes. Examples of charities supported by the JCF include The Elders, Place2Be, CST, Holocaust Educational Trust, Good Food Institute and Compassion in World Farming.

As the Foundation’s work grows in breadth, scope and impact, we are looking for a dynamic CEO that can align the Foundation’s interests together and better mutually reinforce them. This should be achieved in conjunction with contributing to the continued growth and successful achievement of the JCF’s Charitable Objectives.

FAIRR is an investor network that aims to end animal factory farming by putting it on the environmental, social and governance (ESG) agenda and educating the investment community on its negative impacts on human health, the planet’s resources, climate and, by extension, investor returns. FAIRR acts as a global collaborative network that shares research, fresh thinking and best practice with global institutional investors, policy makers, academics, NGOs and other related parties. In addition to the FAIRR initiative, the JCF is addressing this important topic via a range of charitable grants and special projects, including an Animal Factory Farming Exhibition.

Time/Focus:

The majority of the CEO’s time would be spent on the Ending Animal Factory Farming objective. Specifically, time spent is envisioned as follows:

- Ending Animal Factory Farming – 90%, specifically:

- FAIRR ~70%

- Rest of Ending Animal Factory Farming ~20%

- Supporting the Coller School of Management - 8%

- Supporting Education and Culture - 2%

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Formulation: Given the overall vision and Charitable Objectives of the Foundation as defined by the Trustees, develop and maintain a clear strategy for each of the 3 Charitable Objectives within the JCF - although main focus is clearly Ending Animal Factory Farming. The result should be each element of the JCF having a clear purpose and goals. The expectation is that these underlying strategies would be dynamic and adaptable, following guidance from the Trustees, as the organisation grows and evolves.

Implementation of Strategy:

- Ensure the team is delivering on the Strategy and achieving the goals and Charitable Objectives of the JCF

- Building and communicating a strong JCF brand position to external audiences - Building partnerships with organisations that share the Foundation’s aims

- Assist JCF teams directly on initiatives on an ad-hoc basis (e.g. deliver speeches and meet with investors on FAIRR, negotiate with venues for the JCF Animal Factory Farming Museum etc.)

Governance / Operations

- Financial resource allocation across JCF portfolio – budgeting / budget management - Human capital resource allocation across the portfolio – including hiring and resource man- agement

- Regular reporting of the JCF activities and progress to the JCF Trustees

- Regulatory/Charity Commission reporting and compliance of the JCF

- Ensuring appropriate record-keeping and other administrative/governance processes are in place and are followed.
