CGBD Seeks Executive Director The Consultative Group on Biological Diversity, a 30-year-old association and network of environmental funders, seeks to hire an executive director. Our ideal candidate has a high quotient of emotional intelligence, warmth, and a sense of humour to deploy in connecting our members with each other and outside experts to enhance our collective knowledge, effectiveness, and inspiration for action. The executive director should have a wide-ranging curiosity for many topics, familiarity with philanthropy, experience organizing conferences and facilitated discussions, and be a practical problem-solver. They will lead a team of ten staff and oversee programs focused on climate and energy, marine fisheries and biodiversity, the Amazon, Mexico, and conservation science, among others. While they need not be an expert in these topics, a passion for a just, healthy, and sustainable future for all life on Earth is fundamental.
