Water Investors Working Group Meeting

Please join Confluence Philanthropy & the Water Investors Working Group for a 60-minute working group meeting by webinar. The purpose of this discussion will be to review key collaboration  and co-investnment opportunities, to gauge interest, and to determine a path forward. Participation in this discussion is by invitation-only and open only to philanthropies, donors, and single family offices.
Themes will include water sustainability, green infrastructure, water scarcity, and corporate accountability.

The Water Investors Working Group focuses on learning how to identify the impacts of investment in water sustainability, collaboratively promote corporate accountability in water, and use co-investment in water as a tool for addressing scarcity, conservation, and sustainability. This group uses networking, dialogue, and educational events to build the field of mission-related investing in water stewardship and provide multiple points of entry and engagement for potential practitioners.
Ultimately, this group aims to develop a community of practice around the use of mission-related investing vehicles that will benefit water protection, sustainability, and water-related climate change mitigation strategies in the US and globally.

During this invitation-only meeting, the group will discuss the future programming of the Working Group, and will review several opportunities identified during the March 2015 Working Group Retreat. These opportunities include:
  1. The creation of an ESG Water Fund
  2. Collaborative investment opportunities in green infrastructure and urban retrofits (ex: toupgrade leaky pipes)
  3. Co-investment in regional ecosystems approaches
  4. Organizing a Western Water Summit (Summer 2016)
  5. Education and programming specifically on drought
  6. General education and programming on water investment
1-page briefs will be distributed on each of these opportunities in advance of the meeting. We hope you will join us!
