WEBINAR: On the Cutting Edge: Issues and Outcomes from the Confluence Practitioners Gathering

In March Confluence was joined by over 300 impact investors for its seventh annual Practitioners Gathering in New Orleans. The three day event was highlighted by stirring keynotes from Jane Goodall, David Simas, CEO of the Obama Foundation, Kate Wolford, President of the McKnight Foundation, Sister Pat Daly, and Dr. James Hansen, as well as a second line parade through the French Quarter led by a brass band and a family of Mardi Gras Indians. (If you missed the fun, visit our website to read report-outs from members or visit our Facebook page for photos.)

In addition to the exciting planned events, member-generated ad hoc sessions on cutting edge topics provide insight into  where the field of impact investing will trend next. This member-only webinar will revisit some of the hot topics that you may have missed in New Orleans. Join us again to hear from the organizers of ad hoc conversations about racial justice and impact investing; investable opportunities in sustainable fisheries; and post-election initiatives for impact investors.

Speakers include:

  • Dana Lanza, CEO, Confluence Philanthropy (Moderator)
  • Sonia Kowal, President & Director of Socially Responsible Investing, Zevin Asset Management – organizer of Investing in Racial Justice conversation
  • Jason Scott, Co-Managing Partner, Encourage Capital – organizer of Sustainable Fisheries conversation
  • John Powers, Eye on the Future Fund – organizer of Post-Election Opportunities conversation
