Finding Your Foundation’s Shareholder Voice

This webinar will highlight a range of strategies and tools shareholders can use to support sustainability, diversity and democratic accountability at the corporate level. Discussion will center around some specific actions foundations are taking and will showcase myriad resources available to foundations to help design and implement shareholder engagement strategies. 

Michael Passoff will kick off the call with a high-level overview of shareholder engagement strategies and present major outcomes of the last year, answering the question: “why does it matter?” David Abbott will discuss The George Gund Foundation’s decision to push for corporate action on climate change and take the lead in filing a shareholder resolution that would require Devon Energy to report on its climate change impact. And Andy Behar will point to the specific actions foundations can take in the next year, including ways to prepare for proxy season and stand up against the Financial Choice Act.
