Who Are We Looking For? Confluence has grown quickly over the past few years with ten staff spread across three states and a fast growing domestic and international membership. The Director of Programs will lead the headquarters based in Oakland, California, freeing the CEO from office oversight and program management to represent and strategically advance significant organizational goals and initiatives. The Director of Programs will take charge of program planning and oversight, group-building and staff support, and oversee external communications. They will also play a leading role in the Annual Conference, contributing to content development, planning, and relationship management.
Skillset and Commitment. We seek candidates that are skillful and process-minded with experience managing a small organization, supporting a group of diverse, talented individuals, and skilled at client management. The incoming Director of Programs must efficiently find team management solutions, artfully manage consultants, and have experience in nonprofit finance and budgeting. They will focus internally on the organization most of the time but find equal satisfaction in getting out to Bay Area events, representing the organization, and learning about our unique field.
We are looking for a mid-career and motivated executive-level professional who will take charge of this position and is ready to make a long-term commitment to their next leadership role. This position offers unique career growth for the right hire with possible promotion to Vice President of Programs / Chief of Staff.

The starting salary will range from $100k - $110k based on experience and references with opportunity for promotion.
Location: Downtown Oakland, California with ability to work virtually with our east coast offices. Must be available weekdays with office hours from 9:00 am PT to 6:00 pm PT.

Qualifications: The successful candidate must have senior level management experience with a nonprofit organization and as this is a membership organization driven by our unique clients, experience in managing a membership or client services organization will be highly prized.
