The position: ESG & Impact Manager
Pegasus has been working with a highly respected external ESG and impact advisor for several years to build and implement its ESG program and is now seeking to hire a full-time ESG & Impact Manager in New York to serve as a key member of the investment team. The position will report to the Firm’s Sustainability Committee.
Pegasus is uniquely positioned for ESG and impact. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to build on the foundation of the progress already made, and to implement an ambitious impact investing programme.

Key responsibilities
Manage the implementation of, and ongoing improvements to, the Firm’s ESG Management System;
Manage ESG integration and impact strategy throughout the investment process, including deal screening, due diligence, investment committee, investment agreement, and holding / monitoring / reporting phases;
Manage relationships with the Firm’s investors, potential investors, membership associations, and other stakeholders in regards to ESG and impact matters; this includes completing ESG and impact due diligence questionnaires, quarterly and annual investor reporting, project management of the Firm’s annual public Sustainability & ESG Impact Report, and investor initiatives (e.g. sign-on letters and campaigns);
Work with the Firm on impact strategy, including articulation of theories of change;
Manage training of Investment Professionals, other Pegasus staff, and portfolio companies on the Firm’s ESG and impact standards, expectations, and team responsibilities in implementation; provide capacity building to portfolio companies to meet standards, set goals and targets, and close gaps; manage systems of accountability to track, measure, and manage progress;
Work with the Firm to set and manage goals and targets related to ESG and impact best practices in Pegasus’ own operations and office (e.g. in regards to governance; diversity, equity, and inclusion; as well as environmental aspects including resource efficiency);
Represent Pegasus at ESG and impact events and conferences;
Develop and manage the annual ESG and impact budget, including membership associations, research providers and consultants, travel schedules, trainings and seminars, portfolio company visits, etc; and,
Report to the Firm’s Sustainability Committee on emerging ESG and impact trends and best practices, and make recommendations to the Firm on ongoing improvement.
Your profile
Preferably at least 10 years of experience in asset management, banking, or other financial services;
Preferably at least 5 years of experience in the fields of ESG integration and / or impact investing, including working with companies on ESG and / or impact capacity building;
Well-versed in the IFC Performance Standards, EHS Guidelines, Equator Principles, GRI, IRIS, SDGs and SASB;
Strong communication and writing skills, as well as being a creative and critical thinker;
Trustworthy, accountable, team-oriented, and entrepreneurial / self-starter;
Ability to manage teams and projects in a fast-paced work environment, including ability to prioritize time efficiently while remaining attentive to detail;
BA, BS, or higher degree; and
Based in the New York City area; must be available to travel at least three months out of the year.
