Jyoti Aggarwala

Impact Specialist

Jyoti Aggarwala brings more than three decades of finance and institutional sales experience to Confluence Philanthropy. She is committed to connecting purpose and passion with financial markets.  As an Impact Specialist, her primary goal is to activate and accelerate the deployment of capital to areas of resource efficiency, climate change solutions, empowerment of women and youth, education, and improving the lives of underserved communities. Jyoti is a Senior Advisor to Impact Capital Forum, a New York based non-profit member organization educating members on all aspects of impact through events.

Her distinguished career in raising capital for alternative asset managers over the last two decades has been entrepreneurial having most recently been an independent consultant to Big Path Capital (2015-2018), and prior to that worked on her own to raise capital for climate finance projects and women and minority owned private asset managers. Jyoti started her career in alternatives as partner with Thomas Capital Group, a Seattle based private equity placement firm (1999-2005).

Jyoti’s career prior to Thomas Capital Group included work with Nomura Securities, Peregrine Brokerage, Inc. and Ladenburg, Thalmann & Co., Inc., all leading international and domestic brokerage firms. She began her career with Ladenburg, Thalmann as an equity analyst covering the domestic consumer retail sector. After five years, she shifted her focus to institutional sales, marketing South Asian and SE Asian equities to U.S. fund managers for Peregrine and later, Nomura. Immediately prior to joining Thomas Capital Group, she worked as an independent consultant, advising a family office on hedge fund management strategy and manager selection.

Jyoti holds Series 7, 63, 79 and 24 registrations. She earned an MBA in Finance from Bentley University and a BA (Honors) in Economics from Delhi University. Jyoti has conversational knoweldge of Italian and several Indian dialects, including Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu.  Jyoti has a daily Mysore Ashtanga Yoga practice, and is a student of ancient Indian wisdom literature and Vedic chanting.  She is a volunteer with High Water Women and teaches financial literacy to high school students in the New York area.
