Linda Ann Smith has been the owner and "chief operations officer" of Environmental Resource Specialists, Inc., dba GreenMeetings since 1991, when the term "green meetings" was not even in the confernece management vocabulary, let alone the practice that is now. She specializes in the design and production of green meetings for her environmental and/or social change clients. Her work has been recognized for moving hotels she worked with early on and since in the direction of recycling, local sourcing of food items, composting, energy efficient lighting, water reduction, etc. Her clients are few but long term. She is also recognized for her customer service for both clients and clients' members. She loves the details and puzzles of putting a conference together but mostly her passion is to support the work her clients do in the word. Her way of explaining her business is: "I get to work for the people who are changing your world". Linda lives and works in Denver, Colorado but travels the world to produce the green meetings for her clients. She and her faithful golden retriever, Lucy run every day to Cheesman Park in Denver and along the way still pick up trash and bring home the recyclables to put in her recycle container.
