Founded in 2003, MicroVest is 100% owned by four non-profits: CARE, MEDA, Cordes Foundation and Seed Capital Development Fund. MicroVest aims to build capital markets that work for the world’s entrepreneurial poor, seeking sustainable solutions to poverty by facilitating the flow of international private capital to low-income finance institutions. MicroVest believes that commercial investment is the best mechanism to try and provide accredited investors with uncorrelated risk-adjusted financial returns combined with a positive social impact.
