Sun Valley, Idaho
Limelight Hotel, 151 S. Main Street, Ketchum, ID 83340
The Sun Valley Forum accelerates the transformation to sustainable, equitable, and secure— resilient— economies and communities. Each year approximately 250 leaders and innovators from business, government, philanthropy, advocacy, sports and entertainment, academia, the arts and philanthropy gather for three days of inspiration and action to share strategies, catalyze collaborations, and drive courageous leadership. Convened in collaboration with the global investor network Confluence Philanthropy, the Sun Valley Forum delivers inspiration as well as direct results with new projects, partnerships, and investments catalyzed at this action-oriented convening.
Background
With a focus on investment for impact and engaging and activating the public, and deep dive sessions on energy, food and agriculture, the 2018 Forum will also feature timely new topics including the role of blockchain in everything from money to energy, how artificial intelligence can strengthen our ability to understand and protect our natural resources, the power of social media to build movements, and how adventure athletes are protecting the wild and open spaces they rely on, both exciting others and driving change. We have some exciting announcements in development for the Forum as well, building on the major deal hatched at last year's Forum, EnerBlu's move to Kentucky and creation of nearly 1000 new energy jobs in coal country.
2018 confirmed speakers include Linda Sheehan of the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation; Victor Friedberg of S2G and Foodshot Global; Rob Bernard, Chief Environmental Strategist, Microsoft; Lila Preston of Generation Investment Management; Jeff Goodell, Author and Contributing Editor, Rolling Stone; David Crane of Pegasus Capital; Freya Williams, CEO North America, Futerra; Michael Cohen, President of Cypress Creek Renewables; Katharine Wilkinson of Project Drawdown; and Erik Snyder of Drawdown Fund, among others. 2018 sponsors include Accenture, BNP Paribas/Bank of the West, The Weather Company, Microsoft, the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability at ASU and Cypress Creek Renewables, among others.
