Boston Bioregional Gathering: Building Back Better…from the Ground Up

The Old Oak Dojo in Jamaica Plain is a place where neighbors gather to rediscover how to create healthy and resilient communities and a perfect setting to bring together Confluence members to discuss how they can support Building Back Local Economies after the pandemic.

Join us for a discussion of local efforts to “build back better.” Learn how Confluence members and other impact investors are supporting local businesses and strengthening community resilience through local investment in businesses and organizations working to create wealth, opportunity and lasting change.

Deborah Frieze is both the founder of the Old Oak Dojo and the Boston Impact Initiative (BII) – a racial justice impact fund serving entrepreneurs in Boston and Eastern MA. Deborah and new BII CEO Betty Francisco will be on hand to discuss how they supported BII portfolio companies through the pandemic and the work they and portfolio companies like Sunwealth, Capital Good Fund and Commonwealth Kitchen are doing to further the mission of investing for justice.

Co-Hosts

  • Jess Brooks, Sunwealth
  • Cara Early, Breckinridge Capital Advisors
  • Deborah Frieze, Boston Impact Initiative (BII)
  • Lisa Hayles, Trillium Asset Management
