May - July, 2021 | Various In-person Bioregional Events (see agenda for details)
The past year delivered a series of shocks that left humanity reeling. A cataclysmic global health crisis led to pervasive unemployment and supply shortages, followed by massive social unrest, worldwide political instability, and an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. The mental health toll remains to be seen. Each of us was thrust into a new virtual world as screens have become the lens for every experience in our lives. And yet, for some, these changes offered a pause that provoked deep reflection, questioning, and recalibration.
In this time of immense human suffering, our planet has begun to heal with the relief from constant human traction. As we re-emerge from the cocoon of altered reality, incubated energy is poised to generate breakthrough ideas, unforeseen and diverse U.S. political leadership, teeming renewable energy markets, and the desire to value the quality and depth of our lives over the quantity and pace of experience.
In this context, we boldly themed the 2021 Practitioners Gathering “Embrace and Inspire.” As we move forward into a new, uncharted future, we must lean into hope—the promise that comes with having learned to live differently and the dream that our proven ability to adapt might ultimately save us. We can embrace major challenges and, through them, we find the inspiration and tools needed to live with one another and our planet in new, thoughtful, and healthy ways.
The 2021 Practitioners Gathering will reconnect our community at a pivotal moment in time to highlight what we learned this past year and, out of that, we hope to reignite collective action.
Bioregional Gathering Events
In the weeks before and after the core three days of the virtual Practitioners Gathering, Practitioner Members will host small, in-person, outdoor, and COVID-safe Bioregional Gathering events so that members can connect in real life. These intimate outdoor events offer an opportunity for those in the Confluence community to connect as we emerge from our virtual silos.
