Recovery and Resilience: Catalyzing opportunity through CDFIs and MDIs

The COVID-19 pandemic has only exacerbated the racial inequalities in the U.S., which puts a strain on families’ economic mobility and impedes the continued growth of our economy. To support women and minority communities, most impacted by the economic downturns of the pandemic, we must be ready to directly bolster the institutions they depend on to grow businesses and create opportunities for livelihood.
To enable this, there is a growing list of private companies, philanthropic organizations, and banks pledging significant funds support MDIs and CDFIs to advance racial equity. How can we ensure that our efforts are accurate, direct, and successful?
Our speakers offer a unique perspective:
  • Nicole Elam, President & CEO, National Bankers Association (moderator)
  • Erin Kilmer Neel, Executive Director & Chief Impact Officer, Beneficial State Foundation
  • Joshua Siegel, Co-Founder and CEO, StoneCastle
  • Anna Smukowski, Senior Director, Investor Relations & Capital Strategies, Local Initiatives Support Corporation
