New SEC Disclosure Regulations and Addressing Climate Risk | Interactive Virtual Discussion

OPEN TO CONFLUENCE MEMBERS ONLY.

While the Securities and Exchange Commission’s new rules to enhance and standardize climate-related disclosures is a positive step forward, companies must do more to address the hidden risks that continue to grow in the carbon bubble. The loopholes that allow for inflated valuations in carbon-intensive industries are one example of where progress is still needed.

Confluence Philanthropy partners Sunrise Project and Carbon Tracker will discuss the SEC's new rules and highlight outstanding gaps. The discussion will also highlight ways that institutional investors can access more information from the SEC and other agencies to inform their decisions.

Speakers:

- Kathleen Brophy, Senior Strategist, The Sunrise Project

- Dan Chu, Executive Director, Sierra Club Foundation

- Timothy Coffin, Director of Sustainability, Breckinridge Capital Advisors

- John Kostyack, Founder and Principal, Kostyack Strategies

- Robert Schuwerk, Executive Director, North America, Carbon Tracker

This interactive members-only virtual session will operate under Chatham House rules to create a safe space for sharing questions and perspectives without attribution.
